ANTIBES

Antibes, 20 km to the west of Nice and 12 km east of Cannes, adjoins Juans les Pins just across the Cap d’Antibes. There's great transportation with a direct bus from Nice airport and the SNCF station is served by fast trains from Marseille and Nice.

Antibes is a charming town with the largest marina on the Côte d'Azur. It's overlooked by the Chateau Grimaldi, which was used by Picasso as his workplace, and now contains a fine selection of his work together with photographs of him by Bill Brandt and Man Ray.

The terrace overlooking the sea displays fabulous sculptures along with works by Miro.

The streets of Old Antibes constitute a town within a town, with pedestrianised, shady walkways opening onto sunny squares brimming with boutiques, restaurants and bars. There is even a wonderful Australian style bar with wide wooden verandah and Fosters on tap!
